Daylesford & Spa Country Discovery Tour

The Spa Country experience is rambling through the glades of woodlands sampling the water from hand-pumps and taps dotted around the Spa Country, each with its own distinctive taste and beneficial micro-nutrients.

The countless springs in the region range from the well-known, like the historic springs at Hepburn Springs Reserve to the hidden gems like Deep Spring, the site for the regions’ oldest pump house located near the hamlet of Eganstown, another worthwhile visit is Tipperary Spring and Sailors Falls and spring.

Heading back to Daylesford, you stop at Stoney Creek Art Gallery to see art by Michael Parker plus other local artists. On your way to Trentham, you sample the bush harmony and mineral waters from the picturesque Lyonville Mineral Springs reserve.

On the fringes of the Wombat State Forest is Trentham, nature lovers and artists abound here which adds to the atmosphere and character of the town.  You will discover the delights of the Red Beard Historic Bakery; maybe buy some bread, before seeing the Trentham Falls, the longest single drop waterfall in Victoria.

Lunch is at the eclectic Glenlyon General Store, a must for Foodies, before you travel to Hepburn Springs, the epicentre of the regions health-giving mineral springs experience the new stunning Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa to soak your cares away.

Daylesford & Castlemaine Discovery Tour

This sightseeing tour lets you discover the iconic & natural attractions of Daylesford, Castlemaine and Maldon.

Discover iconic places of Daylesford & Hepburn Springs, visiting heritage / historic buildings /gardens / art galleries and locations of the 1850’s goldrush & mineral spring’s reserves. Set on the fringes of the Hepburn Regional Park, Daylesford & Hepburn Springs was founded on gold diggings, which had lured more than 3,000 hopeful prospectors to the area including Swiss-Italians from Northern Italy and the Swiss canton of Ticino.

Castlemaine is a town delighted by grand buildings, wide boulevards and stunning gardens, all reflecting the prosperity and grandeur of the gold rush. A visit to Buda House, one of Castlemaine’s grand homes and gardens in included. This grandeur compliments modern day Castlemaine, where you can find a relaxed cafes, funky boutiques and a vibrant arts scene.
Mt Alexander gold fields now forms the Castlemaine Diggings Heritage National Park - Australia's first Heritage National Park. The Park brings together natural heritage, Box-Ironbark forests with wildlife and wildflowers in season, plus cultural heritage, Aboriginal sites and the ruins and relics left behind by 19th century gold rushes.

Maldon is undoubtedly the best preserved of Victoria's gold mining towns. It was the first town to be declared ''Notable'' by the National Trust of Australia. The 19th century streetscape features old weatherboard homes, solid stone buildings and charming old shopfronts.

Daylesford / Hepburn Springs Highlights Tour

This sightseeing tour lets you discover Daylesford & Hepburn Springs, the tour takes in the iconic places of each town, visiting heritage / historic buildings / botanical gardens / art galleries and locations of the 1850’s goldrush & mineral springs reserves.

Your tour starts with a guided walk down Daylesford’s main thoroughfare, Vincent Street, which is full of heritage buildings, eclectic shops, antiques shops, clothes shops and art galleries as well as lots of foodie places to eat.

On completion of the walk, we drive to a lookout overlooking Lake Daylesford, then down to the lake for morning tea.  A walk is taken on the shores of the lake to take in the lake views and also to taste mineral water from the springs.

The next lake you visit is Lake Jubilee, where you have short walk to view the lake and the water birds.

Next we visit the first of our Art Galleries, this one being the Stoney Creek Gallery, where you may be lucky enough to get a glass of champagne.

On returning to Daylesford, our next stop is Cornish Hill to learn about the Gold rush history of the region and its impact to Daylesford. You also get a great view of Daylesford as well.

If Bromley & Co Art Gallery is open, you can wander amongst his art collection of paintings and sculptures.

Next is the Botanical Gardens at Wombat Hill to see the gardens, tree's and views of the region. As you drive back into the centre of Daylesford, we stop at the many churches to learn of their history.

Next stop is to the largest of the Art Galleries, and this one is Convent Gallery, which during its history use to belong to the Catholic Church.

You have a visit to the Railway Station, which over the many years the railways was the main connection to Melbourne. Today the Railway Station and railway is an operating rail museum.

The tour finishes in Daylesford’s twin spa town is Hepburn Springs; this serene little village is famous for the boutique accommodation, excellent restaurants, the Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa, Swiss/Italian immigrant history, Lavendula Swiss/Italian farm and the iconic Mineral Springs reserve.
